Tradition Honed. Story Unfolding.

Doringboom is more than a brand—it’s a journey. We began with handcrafted knives, forged in collaboration with artisans who carry generations of skill. But our path stretches wider: into Shúkà wraps, Kikoi cloth, beadwork, and jewelry that speak of heritage, resilience, and craft.

Our Roots

Born from a deep connection to African landscapes and symbolism, Doringboom draws its name from the thorn tree—tough, enduring, and quietly beautiful. We honor the spirit of the Kalahari, the colors of the Maasai, and the stories etched into every handmade piece.

Our Craft

Each item we offer is shaped with intention. Whether it’s a blade balanced for use, a wrap woven for warmth, or a bead strung with meaning, we work with makers who understand that tradition isn’t static—it’s alive. We source ethically, build collaboratively, and design with respect.

Where We’re Heading

Doringboom is growing. As we expand our offerings, we remain rooted in authenticity. Expect limited drops, evolving collections, and deeper stories—told through the hands of those who craft them and the lives of those who carry them.

Founder’s Note

I was born in the Kalahari, where the horizon stretches wide and the silence speaks in stories. That land shaped me—its thorns, its dust, its resilience. Even after years away, I’ve learned the truth of an old saying:
“You can leave Africa, but Africa never leaves you.”

Doringboom is my way of staying connected. It begins with knives—tools that carry both function and meaning. But it’s growing into something broader: a space for African craft, tradition, and quiet beauty. From Shúkà wraps to beadwork, each piece reflects a part of that journey.

This isn’t just about selling products. It’s about honoring the hands that make them, the stories they carry, and the heritage that never fades.
